Watercolor Weekend

Been raining constant since yesterday and I was stuck at home with my adorable nieces babysitting. I managed to keep Lexi occupied by letting her use my various colored gel pens and my fountain pen. She also loves to doodle! Her hands got smudged with ink mostly from my fountain pen and while trying to look for something to wipe it saw a used watercolor set on a drawer. I’m not sure who owns it. According to her mama said it’s mine since I’m the one who loves colors the most at home. But then I know it ain’t mine. We used it anyway. *evil grin*

Inspired by the ink in Lexi’s hands, I asked her to wash them and took out a paper board and some plain paper. That got her excited. I then painted one hand with various colors and asked her to press them in a plain paper. That barely transfered the colors as the paints have started to dry in her hand. So I applied colors again and brushed them all wet  just before pressing on the actual board paper. Did the same thing to the other hand and here it is. She’s so excited by our “artwork” that it’s now “filed” in her own “artwork collection” which happens to just be a clearbook I just gave her.

Since it seemed to be a success, we discussed doing it to Baby Ariane today as it’s her 10th monthsary. While baby took a nap, we painted her feet and basically did the same process. Of course baby felt a bit ticklish but luckily continued sleeping. And so we managed to print this:

This “artwork” is also now filed under Lexi’s collection.
